100,000!

Today my website counter turns 100,000. To celebrate your faithful readership, I'll hold two drawings for free books. Just respond to today's post and tell me which book I've authored or coauthored that you'd like and why. I'll use a random-number generator to choose two qualifying comments and post them tomorrow, Saturday, October 29. Then you'll have until November 1 to email your mailing address to me at annbudd@annbuddknits.com.
Good luck and thank YOU!

Oooh, hooray and congrats!! I've long loved 'Knitter's handy book of sweater patterns' but I don't have a copy of my own.

I love the Handy Book Of Sweater Patterns. I use that book a lot. I also have the other one too...with the mittens, hats, etc in it. :-)

I would love the Knitter's handy book of sweater patterns, since I need to make a simple sweater for my mum, and can't find a good pattern anywhere. I would also love Favorite Socks, 25 timeless designs, since I'm really getting into sock knitting! I don't really have a preference between the two =)

Congratulations!

My favourite book of yours is Sock Knitting Master Class. I love knitting socks, and I really loved all the methods and styles you included in the book. I've got a lot of sock books, but I still learned something new from your book. And the DVD was a fabulous bonus!

Congratulations on 100,000.

I would like the Knitters Handy Book of Patterns. I has a little bit of everything in it.

Congrats!
My favorite is Knitters Handy Book of Patterns. It's a great jumping off point for doing your own thing.

I like The Knitter's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns. I've made vests but not sweaters and would like to learn more about constructing them.

I'm 99997! You're almost there! Congrats!

If I win, I'd like a copy of The Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns, please! Thanks!

Really enjoy your blog. The notes on the socks in "Sock Knitting Master Class" as you knit your way through the book are invaluable! I have a number of your books and would love a copy of either Knitted Gifts or Simple Style. Thanks very much.

Congratulations on hitting 100,000 comments. I have several of your books and love the Sock Knitting Master Class, Lace Style and Favorite Socks but would really love The Knitter's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns. Again, congratulations.

The Knitter's Book of Handy Patterns! I have the sweater version and I really like it.

I own the Knitting Socks with Handpainted Yarn book so that would be my favorite right now but your Master Class book will probably replace it once I finally purchase it. Congrats!

Can we ask for a book that hasn't been released yet? If so, I'd love a copy of your Handy Book of Top-Down Sweater Patterns. I already own the Handy Book of Patterns, and the Handy Book of Sweater Patterns, and Favorite Socks, and if I look hard enough, I'm sure I'll find others ;) As a budding independent designer, your books have helped me understand proportions, and have helped me figure out how to get the sweater I'm looking for in the yarn I have on hand. Handy Book of Patterns alone was responsible for a huge jump in my skill set, and the improved look of my finished projects.

I have "Handy Book of Sweater Patterns" and I love it! If it's an option, I would be thrilled to get the new top-down book. If not, the "Handy Book of Patterns" would be really -- you guessed it -- handy! Congrats on reaching this milestone!

My old favorite is "Favorite Socks", but I've recently purchased "Sock Knitting Master Class" and that could easily become my new favorite!

Liz said...

Congrats on 100K! I just bought your Sock Master Class book and keep pouring over the patterns. I'm excited to knit my way through this book. Thanks for offering a variety of new and different techniques for us sock knitters. I think my favorite book of yours though is The Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns. It's just such a great overall resource and one I've referred to and knit from many times.

I would pick Sock Knitting Master Class. I just finished a pair of socks for a KAL that took me a year! I got stuck on the heel and they were in time out for a looooong time.

Wow! I went to your website and scrolled through the list of books you've written and edited. So many of them are on my shelf! When I lay out good money for a knitting book, I want one with some substance--not just pretty photographs (those I borrow from the library). I'm enjoying Sock Master Class right now, my latest purchase. But Knitted Gifts is my favorite. And I'd love to own Lace Style. (And then there's the Book of Patterns, which I keep looking for on my shelf, because I think I own it, and ought to own it, but don't!)

Knitted Gifts looks like a great book. I love accessories! Especially mittens!

Well, I already have the Handy Book of Patterns and the Handy Book of Sweater Patterns, so the next on my list is the Master Class.

Woohoooo congratulations on reaching such a huge number! I have your Sock Knitting Master Class and love it so much! If my name happens to be selected, I would love to receive a copy of Favorite Socks. It has been on my wish list for ages!

Kathy said...

Congrats! Maybe if I had the Handy Book of Sweater Patterns I could get a sweater to fit me!

Hard choice. It would have to be Knitted Gifts or the Sock master class. Both are on my to buy list. I love the hobbie horse in knitted gifts.

What a lovely giveaway! Hmm... Knitting Green is on my wishlist but I'd have to say I'd like Sock Knitting Master Class even more... the patterns in this book are just fabulous and having different sock techniques in one book is just great!

Congratulations on a terrific milestone! I'd love your Knitted Gifts book. I usually knit to for other people and love the variety of patterns in that book!

The Sock Knitting Master Class: Innovative Techniques & Patterns would be great.

There's no such thing as too many sock books!

Dear Ann:

This isn't really an entry in your contest because I already have all your books and can't decide between them. They are all so well designed. The patterns are timeless and the text is always so lucid and informative, they are a pleasure to read and work from. I am looking forward to many more books from you!

Best regards, Michelle

Congratulations Ann! I have two of your wonderful books and would love to own your Handy Book of Sweater Patterns. Wonderful giveaway!

I own, and use frequently, Patterns, Sweaters, Getting Started Knitting Socks and Socks MasterClass. Your books are always so clearly laid out and logically presented that it's a pleasure to read and work with them. It's totally not fair that you ask us to pick one favorite.

I'd have to go with Sock Knitting master Class, since there's always a pair of socks on my needles! Thanks

I have a number of your books already and love them all. The one I don't have that I'd like is Sock Knitting Master Class. I am an avid sock knitter and I like the fact that this book combines some great technique knowledge with patterns by superstar sock designers!

Anonymous said...

Getting Started Knitting Socks is the book that made sock-knitting make sense to me, so I guess in that sense, it's the one that affected me most. That said, the book of yours that I'd most like to own (but don't already) is Simple Style.

ccumberger said...

How on earth to choose? They are all great! My choice, though, has to be the Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns. I missed getting it when first published, and I've wished I had it many times since then.

PenCraft said...

It's a tough choice. I can check out a few of these from my local library (the library manager is a knitter!) so that makes my choice a little easier. It's really hard to narrow it down between Sock Knitting Master Class and either the Book of Patterns or the Book of Sweater Patterns. However, I read in one of the comments above that you are working on a book of top-down sweater patterns. Now that really sparks my interest!

Keep up the great work and thanks for the contest!

Carol said...

I would love Getting Started Knitting Socks. Why? I know how to knit socks but I have never knit socks with a heavy weight of yarn. I haven't knit knee socks either. I love the lace patterns in this book too.

Linda A. Miller said...

I so love knitting socks, which is a recent discovery for me. Have begun to work my way through Master Class. Getting Started Knitting Socks would be a wonderful resource to add to my yarn explorations. Thanks for the generous offer, Ann!

Congrats on hitting the 100000 Mark. My library is sorely missing The Knitter's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns.

I would love Knitted Gifts so I can add to my collection of patterns to knit for others as gifts. I love the Sock Knitting Master Class book which is the only Ann Budd book I have.

Handy Book of patterns without a doubt. I use it often, in fact it is full of notes, small bits of paper and yarn and is definitely getting a lttle tattered looking...

debd94 said...

I'd love the Handy Book of Patterns. I always seem to find patterns that I like that aren't for the yarn in my stash. I would love to have patterns in different gauges and yarn weights. Thank you for the giveaway.
