Handy Patterns--Register to Win

Those e-media folks at Interweave have been at it again and now The Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns is available as an iPad (sorry, I was told earlier that it was available for the iPhone as well, but that is incorrect) app. Appropriately called Handy Patterns, this "handy" app, provides instructions for more than 350 patterns, including mittens, gloves, hats, tams, socks, scarves, sweaters, and vests--all in multiple sizes and multiple gauges--at the touch of a finger.

Comment to this post (only one entry per person, please) and tell me why you'd like Handy Patterns, and I'll draw a winner Sunday, March 25.

A Handy Patterns APP?!?!? Wow, I've been living under a rock! That would be a great addition to my iPad since I keep all my digital patterns on there for knitting on the go! Having that right there at my fingertips would be supremely awesome!

I own your Handy Patterns book, but I won't lie, an app would help slim down my already overstuffed purse!

Doesn't look like my comment made it. I'll try again. This looks like a really handy app to have, especially when a gorgeous skein of yarn presents itself and I have no idea what to knit with it. Thanks for the giveaway.

Hi Ann,
I would love to win this app...it would be handy to have with me at a LYS when I am choosing something to knit. The books are fabulous and I'm sure the apps are too.

Call me old fashioned, but I can't wait for the hard copy of the book. I use the sweater/hat etc pattern books all the time.
To have a top down version of the sweater book- perfect for me.
The i-pad download is really cool. Always having the bok at your finger tips does have it's advantages.
Thanks for keeping our creativity inspired. Karen

I'd love this app - I tend to lose hard copies of patterns, so to have it electronically AND portable would be soooo helpful!

This is one of the books I check out of our library all the time, and to have the patterns at my fingertips at all times would be priceless! And I'm ordering an iPad this weekend!

Recently my work has shifted so that I travel a LOT. I'm trying to make the most of it and visit yarn stores in new towns --- my kind of souvenir. Wouldn't it be great to have patterns handy on my phone? Pick me, pick me, please!

Oh boy,
do you realize what this app would do to my knitting? I travel a lot and during the travels carry only my needles, buying yarn at a LYS at my destination. But, of course I'm not going to be carrying a million patterns with me... so this would be a wonderful add to my brand new travel companion (no, I'm not talking about a hunk but about my iPhone...), a revolution in traveling!

It would be so great to have all of that info at my finger tips!

I seem to constantly be referring fellow knitters to the book when I'm at the yarn shop. If I could flip open this app? I'd blow their minds!

This would be a great addition to my Ipad "book" collection. I love using the Ipad because I can always find what I'm looking for via my bookmarks.

I don't have an Ipad or Iphone, but my LYS owner and friend does. I'd love to be able to give it to her. It wouldn't compare with all she does for her customers and friends, but it would be a start.

One for this book too? What a wonderful resource this is. I already have the book but to have it accessible on my iPod Touch would be fantastic. Nicola

Because I've probably paid the purchase price in library fines holding onto these books past their due date multiple times . . .

Oh wow! What an awesome idea! Handy Patterns would be a great addition to my most frequent form of knitting these days- on the T on the way to work! Quick, handy, patterns, most of which fit in my lap, and all available on my iPhone so no papers to worry about? Love it!

It would be great to take this information when I travel. You never know when you will find that special yarn, and this would allow me to start while I am still on the road. Love your books.

What a wonderful resource to have at your fingertips! I love to make road trips to different yarn shops and always seem to find a skein or two of yarn that I can't leave the store without! An app like this would (an will) be a great resource -and )if I am not driving :) ) I can start working on my project right after leaving the store! (I always travel with my Addi Clicks)!!

Thank for the opportunity!
